Long Jump Men:
With a jump of 8.35m in the final 3, Maykel MASSÓ (CUB) secured the win of the long jump contest. Second and third with 8.31m were Olympic champion Miltiadis TENTOGLOU (GRE) and Marquis DENDY (USA).
Pole Vault Women:
With a 4.66m jump, Nina KENNEDY (AUS) won the pole vault contest on countback. The Commonwealth Games Champion is now eyeing the Diamond Trophy, which would be synonym of a great end to an even greater season. Also clearing 4.66m were Sandi MORRIS (USA) and Ekaterina STEFANIDI (GRE).
Javelin Throw Women:
With a throw of 64.50m, double World champion Kelsey-Lee BARBER (AUS) won the javelin throw contest! Haruka KITAGUGHI (JPN) and Mackenzie LITTLE (AUS) bagged the second and third place with a 62.37m and a 61.76m throw.
High Jump Men:
Olympic Champion and three-time World Champion Mutaz Essa BARSHIM (QAT) cleared 2.30m and claimed victory on the countback, just in front of Sanghyeok WOO (KOR). Third with a 2.25m jump was Hamish KERR (AUS).
400m Hurdles Women:
Rushell CLAYTON (JAM) smashed her PB by 0.30 tonight, securing the 400m hurdles victory. Behind her, Janieve RUSSELL (JAM) ran a SB of 53.52 and Gianna WOODRUFF finished third in 54.13.
1000m Men:
The 1500m World Champion and Commonwealth Games champion, Jake WIGHTMAN (GBR) won the 1000m race in 2:13.88, setting a new Meeting record as well as a World lead. Second with a new National record for Canada was Marco AROP in 2:14.35, followed by Tokyo’s bronze medalist Clayton MURPHY (USA) in 2:15.73. Finishing 7th, Luke McCANN set a new National record of 2:16.40 for Ireland.
100m Women:
The 100m race was not to be missed! World Champion Shelly-Ann FRASER-PRYCE (JAM) clocked a dashing 10.62 to take the win, setting a new Meeting record and World Lead. Her fellow countrywoman and 200m World Champion, took second place with a new PB of 10.71. In third place and for her 7th time in Monaco, Marie-Josée TA LOU (CIV) ran a new Area record of 10.72.
Triple Jump Women:
World record holder and Olympic Champion Yulimar ROJAS (VEN) took a winning jump of 15.01m tonight. Second and third were Shanieka RICKETTS (JAM) with 14.91m and Tori FRANKLIN (USA) who secured a new PB of 14.86m.
1500m Women:
With a time of 3:51.07, Faith Kipyegon (KEN) set a new World Lead, a National record and ran the second fastest 1500m in history! Heather MACLEAN (USA) and Elise CRANNY (USA) - second and third - both set new PBs of 3:58.89 and 3:59.06.
110m Hurdles Men:
The World Champion and Olympic silver medalist Grant HOLLOWAY (USA) clocked a SB of 12.99 to take the win! He was followed by the American Trey CUNNINGHAM (13.03) and the Jamaican Hansle PARCHMENT (13.08).
800m Women:
Natoya GOULE (JAM) took the win of the women's 800m, crossing the finish line in 1:56.98, a new SB. Behind her, Sage HURTA (USA) and Olivia BAKER (USA) both set new PBs of 1:57.85 and 1:58.05.
400m Women:
Double Olympic champion Shaunae MILLER-UIBO (BAH) claimed to 400m win with a performance of 49.28. In second place was Candice McLEOD (JAM), with 49.87, a new SB. Third with 50.10 was Sada WILLIAMS (BAR).
3000m Men:
Thierry NDIKUMWENAYO (BDI) picked a up an impressive victory in the 3000m SC men. With a time of 7:25.93, not only did he break the National and Diamond League records, but he also set a new World Lead. Finish second with a new PB of 7:26.81 was Berihu AREGAWI (ETH). Third, Grant FISHER (USA) ran his way through an AR of 7:28.48.
200m Men:
USA’s champions take it all! Noah LYLES (USA) striked again! With 19.46, the golden boy improved the Meeting record he had set back in 2018! Behind him were Erriyon KNIGHTON (USA) in 19.84 and 400m World champion Michael NORMAN (USA) in 19.95.
3000m Steeplechase Women:
To end the evening, The Ethopian athlete Werkuha GETACHEW took the 3000m SC victory, finishing in 9:06.19. Second and third were Zerfe WONDEMAGEGN (KEN) with a new PB of 9:06.63 and Elizabeth BIRD (GBR) who set a new National record of 9:07.87.
